KORATWEAK（コラットワーク）は、作家ナカザワショーコの創作活動の更なる高みを目指し、コロナ禍の荒波を乗り越え、さまざまな運命に後押しされ、2021年始動しました。
現在のアートソフビの流行を牽引してきた代表的な作家の一人として知られているナカザワですが、奇しくもコロナ禍の真っ只中の2021年、現代美術家の村上隆氏のキュレーション展への参加を機に、絵画、立体と、現代アート作品の制作を開始。これは大変幸運で光栄なことであり大きな転機となりました。
KORATWERKは、マネージメントカンパニーである香港のTHE LITTLE HUTと共にソフビの新たな可能性を広げる活動を通して、世界がより良き世界へと成るための一翼を担っています。
現在は、村上隆氏率いるカイカイキキギャラリーにて油絵の制作を本格化したナカザワと共に現代アートという新たな地平に創作の場を広げながら、原点であるカイジュウソフビも新たな展開を構想中です。
KORATWEAK was launched in 2021, aiming to elevate the creative endeavors of the artist Shoko Nakazawa by overcoming the turbulent waves of COVID-19 and driven by various destinies. Nakazawa, known as one of the leading artists driving the current trend of art sofubi, began creating paintings, sculptures, and contemporary art pieces in 2021, amidst COVID-19, following her participation in an exhibition curated by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. This marked a fortunate and honorable turning point in her career. KORATWERK, in partnership with the management company THE LITTLE HUT in Hong Kong, is exploring new possibilities for sofubi, contributing to making the world a better place through creative activities. Currently, alongside intensifying her oil painting production at the Kaikai Kiki Gallery led by Takashi Murakami, Nakazawa is expanding into new realms of contemporary art and conceptualizing new developments for her original kaiju sofubi.
《KORATWERKのKORATとは、、、》
タイ王国のコラット地方に起源を持つ銀青色の毛皮を持つ猫に由来します。
このコラット猫は、アユタヤ王朝の時代から幸福と繁栄の象徴として大切にされていました。美しいこの猫にあやかり、KORATERS〜KORATWERKが生まれました。
The "KORAT" in KORATWERK is derived from cats with a silver-blue fur originating from the Korat region of the Kingdom of Thailand. This Korat cat has been cherished as a symbol of happiness and prosperity since the Ayutthaya Kingdom era. Inspired by the beauty of this cat, KORATERS〜KORATWERK was born.

Biography
-Profile-
幼少期より昆虫、生物、怪獣に大きな影響を受けながら育ち、 グラフィックデザイナー、
イラストレーターを経て、インディーズソフビ怪獣の制作(デザイン、原型制作)へ。
MEDICOMTOYやBeams、MILKBOY等のコラボレーションや限定 ソフビの企画など、
多方面での活動を経て、現在は現代アートとしての油絵や彫塑作品を積極的に制作。
国内外のアートショーや個展等での発表の場を広げている。
少女と怪獣、小さな生物達との世界観を通して、自然との共存への思いを描く。
代表キャラクターに「山椒魚怪獣バイロン」「シードラス」「ヤモリ怪獣トッケ」等がある。

-Profile-
From childhood, influenced heavily by insects, creatures, and monsters, I progressed through careers as a graphic designer and illustrator to creating indie Sofubi monsters (design and prototype production). After collaborations with MEDICOMTOY, Beams, MILKBOY, and others, and planning limited edition Sofubi, I now actively produce oil paintings and sculptures as contemporary art. I am expanding my presentation opportunities at art shows and solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Through a worldview involving girls, monsters, and small creatures, I depict the coexistence with nature. Notable characters include "Salamander Monster Byron," "Seedlas," and "Gecko Monster Tokke."
